“The color is a dark ruby and opaque. The nose exhibits classic black fruits like black cherries and blackberries along with leather, spices and a touch of smoke. It is elegant yet full bodied with excellent depth, beautiful ripeness with good acidity giving it great complexity. The finish lingers in your mouth long after the wine is gone. Although approachable now with a good decanting, this wine will continue to develop for many years and will reward patient cellaring.”

The Unti Vineyard is quietly emerging as one of the best in California or anywhere for that matter. The vineyard is located in Dry Creek Valley just northwest of Healdsburg, California. George Unti and his family are passionate about growing great wine grapes and their enthusiasm shows in the quality of wines coming out of this wonderful vineyard.

George relies on traditional farming techniques while incorporating the latest technology and innovations. His experimentation with new clones and high density planting continues to yield impressive results. We feel fortunate to work with the Unti family and are continually impressed with the dedication and passion with which they farm. Their efforts are borne out in the bottle.
